N. Carl Monroe President

Founded in 1951 by N. Carl Monroe, the NC Monroe Construction Company is located in Greensboro, North Carolina. The company has been in continuous operation since its founding, providing General Contracting, Construction Management and Design/Build services to both private and public clients. We distinguished ourselves as Construction Program Manager for the State of North Carolina from 1989 to 1997. This program involved $300 million of prison construction; including site acquisition, facilities analysis, design and construction or renovation of existing facilities.

Similarly in 2000, we took on the role of Program Manager for Guilford County Schools’ 2000-2003 $200 Million Bond Program, overseeing construction of 29 separate school projects working concurrently with 14 different architectural firms. “Listen to the Silence” has become a theme with this program as we have eliminated the traditional complaints and negative feedback usually associated with construction activity in and around existing school facilities.
